Year 6 Transition
Transitioning from primary to secondary school is an exciting and important step in a child's educational journey. At Harrytown Catholic High School, we understand this change can bring a mix of emotions—excitement, nervousness, and curiosity. To support a smooth transition, we offer a range of support to help pupils settle in confidently. Our friendly staff and welcoming environment ensure every child feels valued and supported from day one. We work closely with families and primary schools to ensure continuity and familiarity. Everyone at our school will work to support every pupil and to ensure they have a positive, enjoyable and enriching experience at secondary school.
Our dedicated Transition Day on Thursday 3rd July will be an opportunity for pupils to get to know the school and meet their Form Tutor and several staff. We will also hold an information evening on Wednesday 2nd July when we will share key information with parents and carers and be able to answer any questions you may have. Staff will also visit Primary schools before this and there is lots of work goes on behind the scenes to make the transition as smooth as possible.
The success of your child at Harrytown depends very much on our partnership with you, the parents and carers. Building a strong partnership will help us to support your child throughout their time at Harrytown and ensure their journey of academic and spiritual growth is a positive one.
We will soon be adding our dedicated transition booklet, so please check back for more information.
